Quick start: part to stock scan

The shortest path from a part in the portal to scanning stock in or out on the PartLogic mobile app. Need an account first? See Portal signup.

1. Sign in to the portal

Open the PartLogic portal and sign in with your work email and password.

Portal login—enter email and password, then LOGIN.

2. Create or open a part

In the sidebar, open Parts. Create a new Master Product (Dashboard Create part, or from Parts), or search and open an existing one. Fill the basics—Description, Manufacturer, and GTIN or barcode when you have them—then save. PartLogic assigns a unique PartLogic SKU when the Master Product is created.

Create form—guided fields with optional AI Enhance.
Part Summary—master fields and Sites / Storerooms underneath.

3. Assign the part to a Customer Site / Device

Floor scanning needs the part linked to a Customer Site and Device / Storeroom. On the part Summary, expand Sites, then edit or add a Storeroom row so Location, Physical count, and Min/Max match where the item lives. Without that link, the mobile app may not find the part to stock.

Device / Storeroom—local stock context under a Customer Site.

4. Print or attach the barcode label

Before you scan on the floor, make sure a scannable barcode is on the item or bin. Prefer the manufacturer GTIN barcode already printed on the packaging when it matches the Master Product. Otherwise, print or attach a label for the Device SKU or GTIN using your organisation's label printer or labelling process. The portal does not currently provide a bulk barcode-printing workflow—use your usual label tools with the identifier stored on the part.

5. Open the PartLogic mobile app

On a phone or handheld, open the PartLogic mobile app and sign in with the same portal credentials. You should land on the home menu before scanning.

Current limitation: Accounts created using Google-only authentication cannot currently sign in to the PartLogic mobile app. Mobile access requires a conventional PartLogic email address and password.

Mobile app sign-in—use your portal email and password.
Mobile app home—Stock Check, Parts, EPOD; footer Barcode / Menu / Add Part.

6. Scan stock in or out

From the menu, open Stock Check for a count-style workflow, or the Barcode tab to scan a shelf or part label for stock in / stock out. Choose the direction the app offers (stock in or stock out), scan the barcode, then confirm quantity and location when prompted and save. A successful save typically shows a confirmation on device and updates the count for that Device / Storeroom.

If the barcode is not recognised, check that the GTIN or Device SKU on the label matches the part, and that the part is assigned/linked to the correct Device / Storeroom—see the Warehouse guide.

7. Optional: confirm in Stock Search

Back in the portal, open Stock Search (/stock) and look up the part to confirm counts or location look right.

Stock Search (/stock)—find the part after a floor scan.
