GTIN Check API

Look up a barcode or GTIN via GS1's official GTIN Check service—then use returned data to help populate description, GPC category, manufacturer, and related fields in PartLogic (and images where available). Built into the portal and available as an API for integrations.

Built for real-world product data workflows

Teams no longer need to stitch together spreadsheets, scanners, and ERP screens for a standards-backed check. Use GTIN validation in the portal when adding parts, or integrate lookups into the tools you already run.

Ad-hoc lookups

Send a barcode or GTIN whenever you need a check—ideal for receiving desks, data stewards, and one-off investigations.

Authoritative GS1 source

Responses are sourced via GS1’s official GTIN Check service so product identity is backed by a standards-aligned lookup—not a guess in a spreadsheet.

Populate product fields

Where GS1 returns data, use the result to help fill description, GPC category, manufacturer, and related fields—and images where available—instead of typing everything by hand.

In the platform and via API

Use GTIN check inside the PartLogic portal when onboarding parts, or call the API from scripts, middleware, and line-of-business apps.

Who it is for

If you already invest in clean identifiers, GTIN Check meets you where you work—in the portal, in code, and in day-to-day operational checks.

Engineering & data teams

Wire lookups into ETL jobs, microservices, and internal portals with the same GS1-backed enrichment your catalogue stewards use in the portal.

Operations & supply chain

Give receiving, quality, and catalogue teams a consistent way to look up a GTIN and complete product fields before data enters your systems of record.

Get started

GTIN check is available in the PartLogic customer portal when you validate barcodes during part creation and classification. For API access, create an integration key in the portal and follow the developer guides for authentication and endpoints.
